Napa, Napa County
Napa was laid out in the late 1840s at the head of navigation on the Napa River, and steamboats once tied up downtown. The Opera House on Main Street opened in 1880 and was restored after sitting dark for most of the twentieth century. An earthquake in August 2014 damaged many of the old brick and stone buildings, most of which have since been repaired.
